I have to develop a hardware for image processing in shades of gray. Nothing too complicated, just to develop a domain and exploit the Bluespec.

However I still do not understand how could synthesize the loading and saving images in bitmap or at least one file with the array of pixels.

Has anyone done something similar? Or else I would have to use an FPGA and serial registrar?

A simple tutorial or example of how to open and save files outside would be helpful.

Thank you.
